What to Expect in Your Private Session
Each session is tailored to your unique needs, helping you reconnect with your body through mindful, intuitive movement. Unlike traditional yoga or stretching, Somatic Healing focuses on neuromuscular re-education, allowing your nervous system to release deeply held tension and restore natural movement patterns.
We incorporate both traditional and non-traditional breathwork practices, building on the work of experts such as Bernie Clark, Leslie Kaminoff, Gary Kraftsow, Dr David Berceli, and Dr Bessel van der Kolk. Their research into breath, movement, and trauma informs our approach, helping you regulate your nervous system, release stored tension, and reconnect with your body in a safe, intuitive way.
Session Flow
1. Grounding & Awareness – We begin with gentle breathwork and mindfulness exercises to bring you into the present moment, fostering a sense of safety and awareness.
2. Body Exploration & Somatic Movement – Through slow, guided movements, we explore areas of tightness, restriction, or disconnection, helping you retrain movement patterns for greater ease.
3. Breathwork for Release & Regulation – Using a combination of traditional pranayama and modern therapeutic breathwork, we help regulate the nervous system, release stored tension, and create more space in the body.
4. Nervous System Reset & Trauma-Informed Healing – Drawing from TRE® and the work of Dr Bessel van der Kolk, we use gentle tremoring, micro-movements, and somatic awareness techniques to support deep nervous system healing.
5. Restorative Postures & Deep Relaxation – The session concludes with supportive postures and guided relaxation to fully integrate the healing work.
